Why this training

What engagement fixes

01

Disconnected students

Engagement builds motivation and participation, so students who had checked out come back.

02

Short attention

Randomization, storytelling, and attention-grabbers keep students in the lesson.

03

Forgotten lessons

Content tied to students' lives stays with them longer.

04

Test anxiety

Students who practice under pressure through dynamic tension strategies become more resilient.

Research

"Focusing on students' social-emotional development had the largest contribution to the effectiveness of classroom management strategies."

Korpershoek et al. (2016). Review of Educational Research, Vol. 86, No. 3.
The five pillars

One day, five pillars

Every pillar comes with modeling and practice, so teachers can use it right away.

Pillar One

Promoting positive feelings

How does a teacher make a lesson feel personal? This pillar answers with movement, honest feedback from students, and a teacher who shows up as a real person.

Pillar Two

Promoting attention and interest

Storytelling is one of the oldest teaching tools, and it still works. This pillar pairs it with randomization and questioning so that participation becomes the expectation.

Pillar Three

Promoting connectedness and relevance

Students ignore material that feels irrelevant. Teachers learn to build connection points between the curriculum and students' lives, using synectics, visual approaches, and brainstorming, so lessons are remembered.

Pillar Four

Promoting self-efficacy

Students who know how they learn keep learning. Teachers help them build that self-knowledge through reflection and low-stakes practice under pressure.

Pillar Five

Sharing best practices

Teachers work alone too often. The matrix method gives them a simple way to record their most engaging lessons, share them with colleagues, and find where the team has gaps.

Agenda

How the engagement day runs

A typical full day is below. The format is flexible, and the training happens at your school.

8:30 AM to 12:00 PM covers engagement and motivation, the pillars of engagement-first instruction, positive feelings, movement and brain-friendly strategies, and attention and interest through randomization and storytelling.

1:00 to 3:30 PM, after a one-hour lunch, covers meaningful and relevant lesson design, personal connections, visual images, confidence and self-efficacy, and responding on demand.
